“Hand in hand with God,we live love and learn together.”
“By God’s grace, we learn to loveand love to learn.”
1 September 2021
I hope you are all well and have enjoyed a lovely summer holiday with your families. I am delighted to be writing to you as the Head teacher of both Antrobus St Mark’s and Great Budworth Primary School and I am very much looking forward to starting our journey together. I am sure the children are looking forward to starting back to school on Thursday 2 nd September and I write to you with arrangements following the most recent government guidance.
The main changes include: • The removal of the requirement to keep children in separate groups or ‘bubbles’ • The reintroduction of whole school activities such as lunch and play times and whole school collective worship • The wearing of face coverings by staff and parents on school grounds is now optional • If a child tests positive, then the rest of the class will no longer need to self-isolate. If your child has been identified as a close contact, they will be requested to take a PCR- further info can be found on the letter attached from PHE I am happy to be able to report that we are no longer required to keep the children in separate bubbles and therefore the children will be able to mix and play together at break times again. Children are no longer required to sit in rows and we can return to the previous layout of classrooms and dining areas. We are also able to resume whole school collective worship which is an integral part of the school day and helps us to connect as a whole school community. We will no longer be required to stagger the start and end of the school day and children will be able to enter the school building as they did prior to Covid. Antrobus St Mark’s 8.45 AM gates open. 3.15 PM end of the school day. Class One and Two leave via the gate, Class Three leave via the main entrance. Great Budworth 8.50 AM start time- Classes One, Two and Three enter via their classroom door on to the playground, Class Four enter via the main door on the playground. 3.15 PM end of the school day. All classes will leave via the doors on to the playground. We will continue to be guided by Public Health England and will take the following measures to mitigate the impact of Covid within school: 1. Clean hands thoroughly more often than usual 2. Ensure good respiratory hygiene by promoting the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach 3. Maintain enhanced cleaning, including cleaning frequently touched surfaces often 4. Keep occupied spaces well ventilated 5. Follow public health advice on testing, self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of COVID-19 Staff will continue to test twice weekly for Covid using lateral flow devices. This will continue throughout September and will be reviewed at the end of the month. I will be working with staff to review a contingency plan that will consider steps to be taken should we have an outbreak of Covid and need to amend our practice. I will be taking guidance from PHE and CWAC local authority on this and will review the situation in light of local infection rates. Before and After School Club will run as they did in July for the first instance. Once I have had a chance to review the arrangements with staff I will be in touch with more information. Please find attached a letter which has further information from Public Health England re arrangements for schools following the new guidance. Please do get in touch if you have any questions about any of this.
I am really looking forward to meeting you all in person in the coming weeks. I wish you all a restful end to the summer holidays and look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Thursday 2nd September.
