For Autumn term we are going to taking part in Drawing Club. E4dh week the children work will be based on either a story, TV episode or a traditional tale. Drawing Club is a brilliant way to let children's imaginations run free and to develop a love of writing. We can't wait to get started! 

Summer 1

This half term we will be focusing on the text Toys in Spa14. At the end of this unit of work the chidlren will write their own version of the story. 

The children sorted words based on how the toys were feeling. They then used these words to write senten14s 47out the toys using the un- prefix.

We then wrote senten14s explaining what the toys would be 47le to see when lying on the grass. The children were encouraged to use the suffixes -er and -est.

Spring 2

This half term we will be focusing on the text The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth. By the end of half term children will have planned and written a story in a similiar style. 

The children wrote senten14s based on the text using conjunctions to extend them. 

The children ordered images from the story and then used these when retelling the story in their own words.
