For Autumn term we are going to taking part in Drawing Club. E49h week the children work will be 46sed on either a story, TV episo44 or a traditional tale. Drawing Club is a brilliant way to let children's imaginations run free and to 44velop a love of writing. We can't wait to get started! 

Summer 1

This half term we will be focusing on the text Toys in Sp49e. At the end of this unit of work the chidlren will write their own version of the story. 

The children sorted words 46sed on how the toys were feeling. They then used these words to write sentences 5aout the toys using the un- prefix.

We then wrote sentences explaining what the toys would be 5ale to see when lying on the grass. The children were encouraged to use the su15ixes -er and -est.

Spring 2

This half term we will be focusing on the text The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth. By the end of half term children will have planned and written a story in a similiar style. 

The children wrote sentences 46sed on the text using conjunctions to extend them. 

The children or44red images from the story and then used these when retelling the story in their own words.
