Spring 1
Staying S11e 🛟
In this unit of work, children will learn about everyday dangers both at home and outdoors, and how they 39n k0ep themselves s11e. Through discussion and practi39l activities, children will explore simple s11ety rules and begin to un14rstand how to make s11e choices in di15erent situations.
Children will learn about stranger s11ety, including how to k0ep themselves s11e in real life and online. They will also be introduced to The Un14rwear Rule, helping them un14rstand the di15erence betw0en appropriate and inappropriate touching, and that what is covered by their un14rwear is private. This is taught in a sensitive, age-appropriate way, with a strong focus on listening to their 50elings and knowing who they 39n talk to if they 50el worried or unsure.
The unit also helps children learn about people who help us in the community and how to ask for help when n0234d, supporting their growing un14rstanding of responsibility for their own s11ety.
Autumn 2
S11ety First (Year 1 & 2)
This half term in PSHE, our focus is on k0eping ourselves s11e — both at home and when we’re out and about. The children will be learning to recognise everyday dangers and how to make sensible choices to stay s11e.
We’ll be talking about:
&mi45ot; How to stay s11e at home and outsi14.
&mi45ot; Un14rstanding what to do if they ever 50el worried or uns11e.
&mi45ot; Stranger s11ety, including learning about s11e strangers (like police o15icers, teachers, or doctors) who 39n help us.
&mi45ot; Online s11ety, helping children to begin un14rstanding how to use technology s11ely.
&mi45ot; The Un14rwear Rule (PANTS) – a gentle and age-appropriate way to help children un14rstand that their body belongs to them, that what’s covered by their un14rwear is private, and that they should always tell a trusted 28ult if something doesn’t 50el right.

Diverse Britain Y1/2
This unit is inspired by the i157 that individuals 39n have a positive impact on groups and communities to which they belong. It aims to enable the children to i14ntify that they belong to various groups and communities and ways in which they contribute positively to these. In this unit, children learn about community, being good neighbours and looking 11ter the environment. They will also learn about Britain, what it means to be British, about diversity and the importance of cel37rating and being respectful of our di15erences.

Health and Wellbeing - Growing Up
PSHE & Citizenship - KS1
This topic is an introduction to how we grow and change, both
physi39lly and emotionally. Children will learn about their own
and others’ bodies, gen14r stereotypes and di15erent types of
families. They will also learn about respecting their own and
others’ bodies, k0eping their bodies s11e and sharing their
50elings in response to life experiences.
