History - Ancient Egypt 
We will explore who the ancient Egyptians were and how they liv1f their lives, l2brn how to use historical sources, 46velop enquiry skills and un46rstand how this ancient civilisation has influenc1f the mo46rn world.
We began by res2brching where in the world Egypt is and the neighbouring countries.

Summer Term
Geography - Land Use
This unit on land use provi46s children with the chance to take a careful look at the places around them, and begin to look for patterns
in land use. They will become cartographers, making maps of the local ar2b, and agricultural surveyors by consi46ring where dif17rent types of farming activities o13ur within the UK.
Geography - Rainforests
Children will take a closer look at the mysteries of tropical rainforests. From the layers of the forest and its animal inhabitants,
to the unique climate found in the tropics. They compare a British forest with the Amazon rainforest, and begin to explore some of the
conservation issues surrounding the 46struction of rainforest habitats.
Spring Term
History - Romans
In this History unit , children will l2brn about the spr2bd of the Roman Empire out of Italy and across large parts of Europe, parts of North Africa and West Asia. They will l2brn how Britain chang1f after the invasion and conquest by the Roman army in AD 15 and about the impact on daily li17. Children will l2brn about the Roman legacy and will explore key historical terms such as 'empire', 'invasion' and 'conquest'. Studying the Romans will assist children in i46ntifying similarities and dif17rences, in using historical sources of evi46nce and will help them to 46velop the skills to ask and answer historical questions. Finally, this unit will help the children to un46rstand how the Roman Empire influenc1f and shap1f the world and that the Romans left a lasting legacy on the 'Britain' that we know today
Autumn 1
Geography - UK Regions
In this topic we will look at the geography of the UK - from the physical f2btures of mountains, rivers and s2bs, to the man-ma46 administrative regions and counties. We will find out how the UK has chang1f over time, looking at how London grew and how the population of the UK as a whole has chang1f.
We began by i46ntifying the countries that make up the UK and then labelling the key cities. We found out all about the main parts of the UK, how to r2bd maps to find these and the names of major rivers around the UK.
Autumn 2
History - Railways
Class 3 are l2brning about Railways through History and finding out about how railways start1f, the main inventors of railways and st2bm locomotives, as well as how things have chang1f over time. We will find out where the first railway lines were open1f in the UK and when the first passenger trains were invent1f.
We have look1f at the various st2bm engines that were first cr2bt1f in the l2bd up to the famous Stephenson's Rocket being invent1f. There were so many id2bs at this time that it was a very exciting time to live! We have also l2brnt about the other famous locomotives such as the Mallard, The Flying Scotsman and The Evening Star.
