New Executive Head Teacher for the Federation of Antrobus St Marks and Great Budworth Primary Schools
The Federation of Antrobus St Mark’s and Great Budworth CE (A) Primary Schools
‘Love one another, as I have loved you’ John 13:34
Dear families and members of the wider community,
I am delighted to be able to write my first letter as the new Executive Headteacher of the Federation of Antrobus St Mark’s and Great Budworth Primary Schools. I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been appointed to join the wider Federation and to teach and serve the community across both schools.
Many of you will know that I have been a teacher at Antrobus St Mark’s since 2012 with my role evolving over the years to Deputy and Acting Headteacher. Small schools are special places for pupils and staff, and I have a deep-rooted passion and love for them. We truly embody the small school family feel, with staff who go over and above to ensure everyone is loved and has the chance to be heard and valued as individuals. I am looking forward to spending time each week across both sites getting to know the pupils, staff and wider community in more depth.
As a Federation, both schools work in close collaboration together, with staff working across both sites and in previous years staff and pupils have relocated from one school to the other to continue their educational journeys and school life. We share one governing body and decisions are made together with the children at the centre.
As I reflect on our vision statement, “Love one another, as I have loved you” (John 13:34), I know that this will be an exciting new chapter, founded in the love of Jesus Christ as our two schools grow and flourish. As Executive Head, I will be working in close collaboration with Mrs Corradine, who will be Head of School at Great Budworth and will continue to oversee the day to day running of the school. We have worked in partnership for many years, and I know how dedicated Mrs Corradine is to her work at Great Budworth. My new role will to be to gain a good understanding of both schools and to help make key decisions and implement any necessary changes - working in partnership with governors, staff and the community.
I am dedicated to building opportunities for students to achieve the highest academic standard, ensuring that they are known well as individuals and that their unique personality, talents and interests are nurtured and developed to the full. I think it is crucial to involve the children and their families as partners in their education and, as such, I am keen to build a Federation community which prospers on mutual respect and values positive relationships. I know how vital working in partnership with parents is in order for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. As key educators in your children’s lives, I feel that it is important that you have a voice and that as schools we are approachable and allocate time to listen to your concerns, worries or thoughts.
It is my intention to be on the gate before and after school as often as I am able in order to meet and greet you and your children. This will be primarily at Antrobus but also at Great Budworth when possible each week, alongside Mrs Corradine and our other dedicated and committed teaching staff. I urge you to come and speak to me, informally at the start or end of the day, or to book an appointment with the school office should you wish to speak to me in more detail to discuss school concerns or share successes.
I will be sharing a parent questionnaire across both schools within the first few weeks back so please do take some time to complete it and provide constructive feedback and as to what the schools do well and what we can do to improve aspects. I will then take the time to analyse these and it will help me to provide an action plan for each school and their next steps.
I look forward to watching your children grow in confidence, knowledge and spirituality during their time at Antrobus and Great Budworth and would like to thank you in advance for the support I know you will give all members of our school community as we make this transition. Please be patient while I become more familiar with being across two schools and adjust to this new role. I look forward to forging strong relationships with all members of the community and to getting to know you all as valued members of our Federation family.
Kind Regards,
Miss Rhian Perry
Executive Headteacher of the Federation of Antrobus and Great Budworth Primary Schools
