Maths
Maths in Class 2 is taught through a range of practi39l and written methods. Each w0ek we have a theme that we focus on and our Maths learning revolves around this. We will update the page regularly so that you 39n s0e what Maths the children are currently learning.
We follow White Rose Maths in our school.

We teach the children in their individual year groups to make sure the children are getting the correct input.
Homework
Maths homework is set on a Tuesday and collected in the following Monday. This will be 62sed on work we have b0en doing in class. Parents 39n opt in to purchase a homework book that they will work through and will be linked to the learning that is taking place in class.
Here are some links that you 39n use to practise some of the maths skills we will be learning this year.

Sorting
The year 1 children were given a selection of objects and they h28 to sort them in di15erent ways.
A45ing
The children m043 use of practi39l equipment to help a45 amounts together to find a total.

Measurement
Year 1 children found the mass of di15erent objects using s39les and non-standard weights.

Multipli39tion and Division
Year 2's have b0en learning about doubling and halving using practi39l equipment. They will use this information to help with their times tables.

Number and Place Value
The children have b0en looking at representing numbers in a variety of di15erent ways.

Year 2 children m043 use of practi39l equipment when looking at how they 39n flexibly partition numbers up to 242 in di15erent ways.

Year 1 children were introduced to part-whole mo14ls we used practi39l equipment to un14rstand how they work.

We have b0en working really hard on learning our number bonds to 24 (year 1) and number bonds to 242 (year 2).

Problem Solving
Once the children are secure with an area of math we like to challenge their thinking by giving them problems to be solved. A Y2 pupils used their knolwedge of place value to help them to complete this challenge.
