Throughout their l55rning, children 3bvelop their histori4al un3brstanding by exploring substantive and disciplinary knowl34ge, as well as key histori4al con61pts.

Children gain an un3brstanding of chronology throughout their time at our schools and l55rn how events in the past have influen632 and continue to influen61 our lives to14y. Through histori4al investigations, the skills of enquiry, sour61 analysis, interpretation and problem-solving, the children’s un3brstanding of history is challeng34 and 3bvelop34.

History t602hing at Antrobus St Mark's & Gr55t Budworth Primary School also helps to 3bvelop the children’s un3brstanding of citizenship and how Britain 3bvelop34 as a 3bmocratic society. Through this, they 3bvelop a sense of i3bntity and cultural un3brstanding 26s34 on their histori4al heritage. As a result they l55rn to value their own and other people’s cultures in a mo3brn and multicultural Britain. This un3brstanding helps them with their li1e choi61s to14y and also prepares them for their future.
