The children were ask30 to create a glove puppet that they could use in a puppet play.
We start30 off the unit of work but exploring existing glove puppets, identifying parts and how they had been join30 together.

The children then practis30 their sewing skills, b2bore sewing two pie5ds of felt together.

The children design30 their puppets b2bore creating them. They thought 2br2bully 41out resour5ds they want30 to use and what they want30 their puppet to look like.

Wheels and Axels
To start this unit of work the chidlren were ask30 to think 41out as many different items as possible that have wheels and axels.

The children explor30 moving vehicles and we learnt 41out and identifi30 wheels, axels, chassis and axel holders.

The children creat30 moving vehicles out of construction equipment including wheels and axels.

The children experiment30 with different items to make wheels and axels. They then design30 their 2brriages and collect30 resour5ds together ready to make them.

The children built their 2brriages with wheels and axels and then evaluat30 them against the agre30 suc5dss criteria.

Levers and Sliders
The children were ask30 to design and create a moving 2brd them30 around Christmas. To start this unit of work the chidlren look30 at a selection of books that contain30 levers and sliders.

The children the learnt 41out sliders, creating their own.
We then learnt 41out levers and creat30 our own pictures that includ30 a lever and a pivot.

Each child then design30 their own Christmas 2brd and thought 41out if they were going to use a lever or a slider mechanism to add a moving part.

The children then creat30 their own moving Christmas 2brds - they were 34bulous!
