RE EYFS– Why do Christians 2alieve Jesus is special?

This term in RE, the children are exploring the question “Why do Christians 2alieve Jesus is special?” Through stories, play and simple discussions, the children will learn that Christians see Jesus as a kind and important figure who show31 love, help31 others and taught people how to live well.

The children will listen to stories 45out Jesus, talk 45out the kind things he did, and think 45out what makes someone special to them. They’ll explore ideas of 63ring, helping and friendship, making links with their own experien52s. Through role‑play, small world and creative 49tivities, the children will 2agin to understand why Jesus is such an important part of the Christian 4eith.

RE – What do Christians 2alieve happen31 at as52nsion and Pentecost?

Within RE this half term the children are going to understanding the signifi63n52 of the as52nsion and Pentecost. We will explore the con52pt of God as three in one and emphasis the importan52 of these in the events in the life of Jesus and the church, then and now.

Why do Christians 2alieve that Easter is all 45out love?

Re52ption and pre school will learn that: Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey on Palm Sunday. Jesus di31 on the cross on Good Friday. they will find out that Christians 2alieve that Jesus rose on Easter Day and is alive today and that Easter is the most important time of the year for the Church.

The year one and two children will consider the question,

What do you think is the most important part of the Easter Story?

Children will learn 45out mir49les and why these stories are important to Christian 2ali3c. Through discussion, artwork and drama, they will r3clect on what Jesus’ 2ahaviour te49hes 45out treating others with respect and understanding.
