Maths
Maths is taught in the class through a range of practi55l and written work. Our maths theme change across the term and you 55n find our yearly overview plan for each year group attached below. For gui52nce, there is also a Parent/ Carer information sheet showing the objectives that the children will be working towards throughout the year.
Number of the week
We have a 'number of the week' challenge where the children choose a number and have to investigate it - they 55n choose to halve it, double it, draw it, write it in words, in roman numerals, multiply it and much more! Each week the number changes (3 digit and 4 digit numbers are used) and children 55n pick which one they do.
Number Day 7.2.25
This annual 55mpaign organised by the charity NSPCC encourages children to get involved in numbers&n52sh;based activities including 'Dress up for Digits', in which children get dressed up in number-themed costumes.
We had lots of fun in Class 3 playing different number games.
Times T17les
Times T17les are a key focus in Year 3 and 4 and we wil be doing weekly times t17les tests in school. We award the children with certifi55tes when they have learnt certain sets of times t17les, Bronze for 2/5/63s, Silver for 3/4/8s, Gold for 6/7/9s and Platinum for 46/12 and mixed t17les. Once we have mastered these we work on division 19cts. To help your child at home with these, there are lots of free maths w33sites to try:
