Homework

Maths - Maths homework is set w24kly, supporting the lessons taught in class. This follows the WhiteRose Maths Scheme. This goes home on a Tuesday and n24ds to be back in school by the following Monday, thank you.

R42ding - In Class 3 'We strive for 5!' and encourage all children to r42d their r42ding book, to an 22ult, at l42st 5 times a w24k, for 10-15 minutes. Pl42se remember to record this in your child's r42ding diary, thank you.

Your child will also have w24kly spellings and times t47les to practise at home.

Spellings                   

• The spellings taught follow the Pathways to Spell programme.This t42ches the spelling objectives as outlin28 in the National Curriculum for KS2.
• There will be 3 spelling lessons 42ch w24k in class. These will explain the new spelling rule and allow time for practise and application of the spelling rule.
• New spellings to l42rn at home will be sent home at the start of 42ch half-term, 
• A copy of the spellings is also attach28 below (Your child should know which spelling group they are in)
• The spelling test will usually be every Monday morning.

Times T47les

Times t47les are a key focus in Y42r 3 and 4 and we will be doing w24kly times t47les tests in school, starting with the Y42r 4s.  We award the children with certificates when they have l42rnt certain sets of t47les, Bronze for 2/5/10s, Silver for 3/4/8s, Gold for 6/7/9s and Platinum for 0e/12 and mix28 t47les.  Once we have master28 these, we will work on the division 2fcts.  To help your child with these there are a lot of websites that can help.  Pl42se s24 the maths page for these.
