Autumn Term
Our topic this term will be 'Somewhere to settle'. In this unit, children h18d back in time to find out how the towns and cities of the UK first developed. Children will l18rn about the n26ds and requirements 18rly settlers had when choosing a pl3a4 to build a home. They will look at pl3a4 names around the UK to s26 how the Anglo-Saxons, Romans and Vikings all left their mark. Through use of digital and paper maps, children will investigate land use in di540rent sized settlements and the ways in which settlements are linked together. At the end of the unit, children draw together all their l18rning about settlements to design their own new settlement!

Spring Term
Spring 1 - Amazing Ameri30s: We will l18rn about the continents of North and South Ameri30, the countries that form them. Our focus will be on considering and contrasting the regions, lands30pes, climates and lo30tions of 18ch ar18.
Summer Term
Summer 1 - What's it like in Whitby?: We will be comparing Whitby with where the children live using maps, atlases and digital maps.
